have the FDA explain why it has not followed up on the Ranbaxy Consent Order and certified non-adulteration of its meds.

Created by J.K. on October 06, 2012

Simply put-the FDA fined Ranbaxy $500 million, and Ranbaxy agreed to clean up its manufacturing facilities in three months, which ended May 1, 2012. Ranbaxy has not complied with the Consent Degree it signed in January 2012, and the FDA has not taken any action. By signing the Consent Degree, the FDA permitted Ranbaxy to sell atorvastatin (generic Lipitor(r)). Ranbaxy reported it earned $600million on the transaction! Good deal for Ranbaxy.
