Have the Federal government pay off/forgive up to $35,000 of student loans to citizens who have had trouble paying loans

Created by J.S. on November 27, 2012

The petition is to help people who have taken out student loans and due to the current economic environment are unable to find a job or a job that pays well for their education level. The government will forgive up to $35,000 of one's student loan to those who have been out of school for 2 years or more. The government can off set the cost of the repayments by enforcing a 2% tax on adult material with the tax being split between the state and federal government. If the student owes less than $35,000 then their loans will be paid off. This will help in several fronts by paying a citizens debt down if over $35000 owed, then this would lower repayments. Which means more money to spend on the economy. Plus why should nations or corporations be allowed this privilege.
