Have "Freedom from religion also means freedom from religion" in the DOE's education standards.

Created by M.B. on June 17, 2013

Recently, Texas governor, Rick Perry, signed a bill call the "Merry Christmas" bill, and in the video of the signing, he has stated several things that have already been debunked like "Our children can't openly pray in schools", and perhaps most irritatingly said "Religious freedom does not mean freedom from religion". For this, we request that the mantra "Religious freedom includes freedom from religion" in the Department of Education's standards for public schools. Mandated prayer in public schools was already ruled unconstitutional in Engel V. Vitale (1962 Supreme Court case). We must keep religion out of the classroom, and require every public school teacher to follow the curriculum.
