Currently, about 64 countries around the world require genetically modified organisms to be labeled. The U.S. is not one of those countries. Labeling GMOS will remove the fear of the unknown, and give people the right to choose whether or not to consume a GMO. An important privilege that labeling will provide is the fact that if people have had a GMO, and their health is somehow effected they can then inform their doctor about the GMO they consumed earlier, revealing that it has caused a negative effect. If GMOs are not labeled, these health issues will go uncovered, and consuming them will continue to result in problems.
