Have the government fund higher education for students.

Created by P.C. on March 06, 2013

Students graduating from universities are tens of thousands of dollars in debt, and those that go on to pursue, for example, a degree in allopathic medicine accumulate up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt by their graduation. Instead of having students pay for education in public institutions at the undergraduate level, the federal government should fund student tuitions, room and board so that cost is no longer an inhibiting factor for in-state students to pursue higher education. Private institutions will still mainly rely on tuition for funding and students attending school from outside their state will also have to pay an out of state fee. For students who go on to pursue higher degrees, the government should provide a stipend to help alleviate costs
