Have Gun Manufactures create firearms that only operate by verifying the owners fingerprints

The United States is faced with a culture of gun violence. We have millions of illegal firearms claiming our children and law abiding citizens. I believe that the gun manufacturers should create weapons that will only fire if the legitimate owner's fingerprints are successfully verified. This action will virtually eliminate illegal weapons in our communities and reduce unauthorized use of firearms. This will also create a system that will allow the authorities to keep track of the weapons that are being purchased and investigate transactions that may raise red flags.
