This petition is to hopefully encourage the government to step up like J.F.Kennedy did and challenge the population to accomplish a great advancement akin to landing on the moon in the 1960's.
America has over 50 years of space flight under its belt now, the world has also joined together to advance space research. Space travel has in general been returned to the realm of science fiction. America in the 60's challenged itself to accomplish something. Since then this feat has never been repeated. The country came together and did something amazing. The success of NASA proves it is possible to rally the population and challenge them and leave a mark on the world unseen since WW2. Please Mr President, Not only challenge America to travel to another planet but this time challenge the world.
