Have the justice department challenge the draconian Voter ID laws passed in North Carolina and other states.

Created by R.P. on July 27, 2013

The US justice department recently challenged Voter ID/suppression laws in Texas. Attorney General Holder must use these same provisions of the Voting Rights Act to challenge voter suppression attempts in other states like North Carolina. The recent Supreme Court decision to invalidate portions of the Voting Rights Act is being used by the GOP to make it harder for people to vote. This is disproportionally being used against minority voters. While states no longer need to get their voting changes approved by the justice department, the DOJ can still use portions of the law to challenge voter suppression efforts. Please use every legal weapon to challenge these voter suppression efforts in states like North Carolina.
