Upon entering High School, I set a goal to learn Latin. A friend of mine who lives in Rhode Island has been learning latin and says that Latin has helped him learn almost every other vital language with ease, such as Spanish, German, French, and more. I saw my guidence counselor and asked if Latin was an option and her response was that the only option was Spanish and you are required to take 2 years of spanish.
