Have the Northern Panhandle counties of Brooke, Hancock, Ohio, and Marshall separated from the state of West Virginia and form a new state to be named Adena after the original inhabitants of the area with Wheeling as it's capital.
The Northern Panhandle of West Virginia is isolated from the rest of the state. One must travel through Pennsylvania or Ohio to reach other points of the state as no highway connects it to the rest of the state. The people of the Northern Panhandle are linguistically and culturally distinct from the rest of West Virginia. Residents identify more with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where they share the same dialect and culture than identifying with West Virginia.
For these reasons the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia should be separated and a new state formed.
