Criminals need to have stiffer penalties imposed for the use of a crime with a firearm. This needs to be added above and beyond the crime itself. Life in prison should be automatic if a felon is caught with an firearm or is used in the course of crime. Law abiding citizens have penalties imposed on them for crimes someone else committed. Let the criminals pay harsh penalties for their own crimes.
