It has become increasingly evident in recent times that many legislators become preoccupied with the idea that their party knows best; that when it comes to laws regarding healthcare, their party leaders know what's right and what's wrong. The recent abortion laws in Wyoming and Texas and the "pregnant 2 weeks prior to conception" law passed last year in Arizona speak volumes to this unfortunate fact. We're asking that legislators on a state and federal level be required to ask the Department of Health and Human Services, Surgeon General, or other nationally recognized medical board for an analysis on any laws that would directly affect medical practices and procedures including but not limited to abortion, should a Representative or Senator request one. Don't have an MD? Ask one first.
