American news stations such as CNN focus too much on small pop culture news and need to more successfully compete with news stations like BBC. Topics concerning celebrities use up too much air time and draw attention away from important news such as National updates. Pop culture is most often irrelevant to citizens active in political participation, and we feel celebrity reports should be left to other networks such as MTV and VH1. The people need to be more informed about the nation rather than celebrities.
