This petition is encourage the government to create a holiday in honor of Jonas Salk. This is to encourage other to follow his path and create better place for humanity. He gave humanity the best chance to fight diseases and live much better lives. People should reflect on their live and see how they can help their fellow man. He dedicated seven years of his life to the polio vaccine and in the end he did not patent the vaccine. Jonas Salk had little interest for personal profit from the vaccine. He was hailed as a hero by many and should have a national holiday in his honor.
