Have one part of the country voluntarily become a Traditional American Homeland another part a Socialist one.

That a portion of the country is voluntarily run following Traditional American values (limited government, fiscal responsibility, rugged individualism, etc) without interference from the Federal Government and not paying for Federal Government boon-dongles it deems as being "unconstitutional" in their eyes. Another portion of the country would be voluntarily run following a more "Socialist" path geared more toward the "greater good" able to accomplish almost anything as long as they pay for it themselves. After about ten years we would see which system is best for the country; fiscally, poverty, culturally, etc.
