For too long Congress has been able to vote on their own raises in pay. I believe that voters should have the right to vote on their raises. New, incoming Congress-people, should start at a base pay based on the average middle-class pay of their state. Incumbents running for re-election should have their raises voted on at the same time as they get voted for. A simple screen on a voting booth would suffice. After you vote, if it is an incumbent, the next screen should ask if you believe that this rep. should receive a raise. If an incumbent really cared about the people they represent and work hard for them then they should have no problem with those same people confirming that they did a good job and deserve a pay raise. They currently get paid too much as it is.
