Chris Mintz, is a 30 year old Army veteran who served for 10 years, is currently in the hospital after suffering 5 gunshot wounds during the Oregon community college shooting on Thursday that left 10 dead. No vital organs were hit but both legs are broken and he'll have to learn to walk again. Thursday was also his son's 6th birthday.
Chris tried blocking one of the doors at the school to prevent the gunman from entering, was shot 3 times and fell to the floor. He looked up at the gunman and said "it's my son's birthday today" and was shot 2 more times.
Chris Mintz is a true American hero and should be recognized as such. President Obama should meet with Mr. Mintz.
