We are calling on President Obama to show his support of the rapidly increasing secular community and to take the oath on something more meaningful than a book that is not viewed as sacred by by a significant part of the population.
After Pastor Giglio's recent withdrawal, it makes no sense for the President to continue to use the book (the Bible) that Pastor Giglio draws his unjust sermons from in his swearing-in ceremony.
We think it would be more meaningful for President Obama to take his oath with his hands on his immediate family's shoulders than on a book in which he has voiced his public disapproval of some sections.
Please, President Obama, this could be a groundbreaking sign of solidarity for the outspoken secular community.
