January 7th is the day that Eastern Christians celebrate Christmas. We always go back to school on the day of the feast of the Nativity. It's almost as if our holiday is overlooked on purpose. Orthodox Christians in the United States number in the millions and have been a huge part of the history of this country. Why should the holiday break that we have in public schools end right before our celebration of Christmas? Orthodox Christians should be recognized in this country, and our Christmas holiday should be included in the winter break that every public school has. It’s only one more day added to the break, and it would be fair to everyone.
