so that the nobody can define semi-automatic rifles and shotguns as "assault rifle" by legal definition. thelegal definition of "assault rifle" should be legally defined as the following : a rifle that is selective fire that shoots a intermediate cartridge. that includes pistol grip, flash surpressor, bayonet lug,has a detachable magazine, selector switch that indicates the selection of semi-auto to either full-auto, or 3 round burst. under this definition a true assault rifle would be a Class-3 firearm. any rifle that is designed from the factory to be semi-auto only shall be defined as "military style semi-auto"
