Have the salary, insurance benefits, and lifetime benefits of senators, to be voted on by the American people.

Created by L.S. on November 06, 2011

Why do elected officials, such as Senators and Representatives, vote on their own pay, health insurance benefits, vacation, breaks in session, and recieve lifetime benefits? These things need to be voted on and regulated by the American people that vote them into office. The American people do not get to vote on what their own pay increase will be, or have free health insurance. Why should elected government officials. Give that to the people to vote on, based on the job performance. It may motivate our elected officials to do more for the American people and accomplish more than arguing across party lines.
