Chief Kyle was serving his country by helping veteran's with extreme PTSD reassimilate into civilian life when he was shot and killed by one of those he was helping. Unfortunately, Chief Kyle left the military priot to the Post 9/11 GI Bill's implementation. So, he could not take advantage of transferring his GI Bill to his wife and two children. By rating his death service-connected, the VA can grant both compensation and education benefits to his dependents. If anyone ever deserved this, it was Christopher S Kyle.
