State Highway 31 connecting Kilgore to Tyler, Texas is mostly a two lane highway. Although some "passing lanes" have been in place, with more being added, the state does not have any immediate plans to widen 31 completely between the two cities. Many fatalities have occurred. Texas needs to put into a plan to widen out Texas 31 to four lanes with possibility of a center lane and add additional patrol. Traffic is dangerous, people drive crazy, tailgating, passing on solid double yellow lines, pulling out in front of oncoming vehicles going much slower than the posted speed limit.
