Have U.S Foreign Policy Support India's Medical Patent Laws

Created by I.T. on December 10, 2012

India is viewed by the international community as the "pharmacy of the third world," as India's patent laws make it easier for generic drugs to enter the Indian pharmaceutical market, as well as to be exported to third world nations. India's patent laws make it possible for generics to easily come to market, as India will only give a patent to a "new and innovative" idea, not simply an expansion of an existing idea, which is how big pharmaceutical drug companies make their money.
However, the Obama administration, and Western Europe have tried to stop India's patent laws, which provide thousands of the third world's sick a year with affordable drugs.
Tell the Obama administration to stand with India, and stop fighting against India's patent laws.
