have U.S. Government agencies use environmentally safe de-icers. Harsh chemicals are harmful to pets & the water table

Created by P.G. on January 31, 2013

Salts and harsh chemicals that are used in winter to de-ice sidewalks and steps are bad for trees, plants and animals that come in contact with them. In addition, as the ice and snow melt, the salt washes away into streams, rivers and bays with negative consequences for aquatic life. As part of the President's commitment to protect the environment from climate change, we would like him to order U.S. Government agencies to use de-icing products that are environmentally safe.
