To the Head of State, NUTS! Signed, The American People

Created by E.H. on January 24, 2013

When the German Army encircled the men of the 101st Airborne Regiment inside of the town of Bastogne during WWII, the German Commander had given General Kenneth McAuliffe an ultimatum. If McAuliffe would give up and entrust the lives of his men to be prisoners of the German Army, they would be kept safe.
McAuliffe sent a reply to the German Officer in the form of simple letter that said only one word, "NUTS!".
Even though they were out-manned, out-gunned and out-supplied, McAuliffe and the 101st managed to keep the Nazis out of Bastogne long enough for an American Armor Battalion to break through the encirclement and provide assistance.
McAuliffe's story is a perfect example of why we should never give up our freedoms, or that of our countrymen, to would-be dictators.
Say "NUTS!" to Obama.
