Our elected officials should have the same coverage as most Americans. High deductibles, high premiums, and limited payouts. Perhaps we would see a more serious negotiating for the people of this Country if this were the case. It is crazy for tax payers (us) to give politicians what very few of us have. Imagine how much this would cut from the budget? Perhaps the conversation around a public option would be more appealing?
