Cancellation of our existing PPO health care policy by Blue Cross in Michigan (BCBSM) due to the ACA has resulted in us needing to enroll in an inferior HMO. The BCBSM 2014 PPO offerings on healthcare.gov are 50% higher premium than our 2013 Option C Traditional and 600% out of pocket (OOP) increase.
We want to keep what we had and liked. At our age we do not need or want baby birth or mental health coverage, etc. - nor any pre-existing condition risk premium,
Many policies like ours should be legally grandfathered, having no actuarial changes since June 2010 ACA enactment. Yet even though President Obama and the State of MI have recently permitted providers to continue our existing contracts... BCBSM and others refuse to do so. This petition seeks immediate remedy for restoration.
