Many Americans have lost their jobs and/or work part time and have no healthcare coverage for their chronic diseases like diabetes, cancer, etc. We need our government to find a way to provide affordable healthcare to these citizens.
The elderly have Medicare, the disabled and poor have Medicaid but the people who fall in the above category are left without the necessary medical insurance to care for chronic pre-existing diseases. PCIP is not workable for these people since it has a "Six Month without insurance" clause in it. Delete this clause and maybe PCIP can be their answer to getting much needed medical insurance.
