It's simple, as we age or have health issues, our hearing can become compromised. Hearing is essential to quality of life, not only for the person with hearing loss but for those around them. Currently hearing aids are not covered if you are over 21 and even coverage is limited for children.
Health Insurance providers and Medicare Insurance DO NOT cover any cost for these necessary medical devices. Hearing aids can cost over $2000 per ear and without coverage or enough funds many people are disabled by hearing loss, do not enjoy the quality of life others do, can have employment effected and may never hear their gradchild laugh, a bird sing or the wind blow. Those simple things which are taken for granted.
