I have found many working parents who can not afford to pay for their children to eat lunch at school. Many of them can barely make ends meet with the cost of gas, food, clothing, shelter, etc. My husband is a disabled veteran who is only receiving 10% military disability at this time while we wait for them to increase his award. My son goes to school and needs to eat lunch to do his school work. I was told that I make too much money so he needs to pay .70 daily to eat breakfast and lunch. Well it is very hard to do this when I have to make sure he has health care and a roof over his head with the basic necessities such as electricity, water, insurance, etc... I would like someone to address the issue to let all children eat free no matter the income. Children are the future.
