This petition would set limits on the US Congress and return our government back to what is was suppose to be. To accomplish this:
1) Limit terms that a member of the US Congress (House and Senate) are allowed to serve to a life-time maximum of 8 years.
2) At the end of said life-time term, eliminate the pensions and health care benefits of outgoing members. Ex-members of Congress must fund their own retirements (401k, IRAs, etc) and medical insurance exactly like the American taxpayers.
3) Abolish the ability of Congress to vote themselves raises without approval from the American taxpayers (i.e., popular vote).
4) Congress members salaries are not to exceed $125,000 per year. Members missing 25% of votes will be penalized (pay cut) for each performance failure.
