Help Americans suffering from Celiac Disease by supporting the Gluten in Medicine Disclosure Act

Created by J.S. on May 17, 2013

Please support the Gluten in Medicine Disclosure Act which requires drug manufactures to disclose if they use ingredients derived from starch or grain. Roughly 3 million Americans have Celiac Disease and around 18 million are gluten sensitive.

Currently, ERs, pharmacists, and hospital doctors have no way of knowing if medications they prescribe and/or administer to a patient contain gluten. This lack of information can cause grave consequences and aggravate medical conditions. The patient must contact the drug manufacture directly and most of the time the drug rep can't provide that information.

This bill will help pharmacists and doctors give patients the information they need to know immediately, helping to provide life-saving medications to their patients. Thank you for your support.
