Help change Twitters character limit

I mean the title is self explanatory. As twitter gets more and more popular by the day, many get frustrated with the amount of space you have to type. Unfortunately the amount of space provided isn't big enough to have an articulate conversation/debate. If you do try and have a conversation, you will be bothering everyone else with updates. 280 (double the character limit now) would easily suffice as well as make twitter better.
