Instead of sending billions and billions in federal subsidies to other countries, the government should help CITIZENS with student loans pay down their debt. In the current economic climate, millions have lost their jobs and homes. Americans continue to struggle with their day-to-day obligations, and are not able to find work adequate to support their households, let alone pay off student loan debt. Home loan rates are at an all-time low, while student loan debt is far higher! The government is loaning money to businesses and banks for pennies on the dollar, but student loan interest is not being helped by the government.
