At present drugs such as Enbrel a biologic drug are not subject to these laws and can cost the consumer thousands of dollars per year. If you are on Medicare you cannot get drug company assistance. See the Enrel Support site. Also true for any other government insurance program, no Enbrel support possible. Specific example is many pre retirement plans have a co pay average of $20. Medicare has an initial cost of approximately $550.00 for this drug per month. This hurts the aging consumer who may need it most and usually has fewer dollars to cover living costs.
