Delwit ave of Oakwood Beach Staten Island, New York is a very dangerous block.Twenty five families live in fear for their lives everyday. The block continually floods from high tide, twice a day. We also have had 10 brush fires, which three were 6 alarm fires. We have no quality of life and our children are in danger from floods and fire. The estuary is out of control. The estuary is 20 feet from the houses. The Ocean has flooded the most of the homes every year for the past 6 years. The water is dirty and has formed a tidal pool at the dead end. The tidal pool is 300 feet long, 200 feet wide, and 3 feet deep some days. Children can drown in it and our properties are repeatedly taking on water. Delwit Ave should be included as an enhanced area since we are in the DEC Buffer Zone.
