Help disabled to be able to work for themselves and allow them to put aside money to help start a business.

Created by S.H. on October 26, 2011

Recent news has confirmed that the current economy is hurting disabled people more than anyone else. They are losing their jobs and many disabled cannot work at a job with usual hours or conditions. Disabled people are more likely to be in the lower income brackets and are more vulnerable than ever in a down economy. The government should help disabled to contribute, not only to their own economic well being, but also to help their community and potentially other disabled people who might be able to work as employees. Disabled people need mentors, and help from the government to secure grants and loans that would not be counted against them as resources.
In addition, the resource limit for disabled receiving SSI has not been changed since 1989 and is far from a reasonable amount for living
