As American citizens who are deeply concerned about the humanitarian catastrophe taking place in Eastern Ukraine, we urgently ask you to do everything in your power to bring the sides to an immediate cease fire and stand down of all combatants so that real negotiations about the country's future can begin. The current conflict cannot be solved by military means, and both sides must be encouraged to make the compromises necessary for peace.
