I am writing this petition on behalf of all federal employees that make payments toward their federal student loans. There is a current trend of many government agencies not offering their employees the federal student loan repayment program as a way to repay their student loans. As federal employees, we should be given the option or benefit of having our loan repayments taken from our gross pay (similar to our TSP) as opposed to paying our loans after our net income. The benefits will help the federal government and its federal employees, in terms of guaranteed payment from employees salaries, and it helps federal employees by making it more affordable to pay off their student loans.
