HELP FIGHT INJUSTICES FOR HOMELESS WOMENN AND CHILDREN IN NASSAU COUNTY!

Created by B.V. on December 19, 2012

As students from Molloy College, we are asking for your support in challenging a punitive policy, which is resulting in homeless families being forced onto the streets everyday in Nassau County. The majority of the homeless population in Nassau County is now women and children. As of November 1, 2012, The Office of Housing and Homeless Services put a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) into effect which restricts homeless mothers and children from obtaining any shelter between the hours of 9am and 6pm. This MOU also deters them from receiving the valuable services necessary to regain stability and independence. Help us get this appalling MOU repealed so these homeless families aren’t subjected to cold winter days on the streets. Please sign our petition to show your support.
