help fix the TSA's current operations in handling both Transgender people and pat-downs for the general populace.

Created by A.V. on July 31, 2014

There are two issues in this petition both in need of discussion.

First, Transgendered (Hereby TG) people are horribly mistreated in airport security. Many do not match either body type the TSA scanners look for, requiring a more invasive pat down. More don't get that far, lacking documents with the gender they identify as to not need to be questioned on appearance.

Many TG people refuse to fly for this reason, increasing road traffic and decreasing the safety of all over longer drives, as statistics show. Making it easier to fly helps increase revenue for travel and treats TG people like everyone else.

Second, pat downs need a time restriction. On my own flight, three girls in my group of 15 people were pat down excessively more, even with tight clothing that couldn't hide weapons.
