Marine Sgt. Tagmoorhessi accidentally crossed into the Mexico border on March 31, 2014, bearing three arms. He was disoriented by what his family says is PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and poorly-lit street signs. He called 9-1-1 to explain the situation, but was arrested before he could make a U-turn. He was placed in court on April 28, 2014, but ceased because the judge discovered Tahmooressi fired his attorney for advising that he commit perjury (The offense of willingly telling an untruth in a court after having taken an oath or affirmation.) Although bringing weapons into Mexico is a violation of federal law, witnessed claim that it is highly difficult to determine whether or not one has crossed into Mexico. He had just served two hours in Afghanistan.
