As a transgender woman, I have already chosen that I will be going through SRS (sex reassignment surgery). This process though is a very costly procedure and is considered by insurance as a "cosmetic procedure".
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) considers Gender Dysphoria to be "a marked difference between the
individual’s expressed/experienced gender and the gender others would assign him or her, for at lease six months of time. This condition causes clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or
other important areas of functioning."
This can cause massive stress and depression on a person, just because they cannot be who they are.
It is in the name of Civil Liberties that I ask to receive help towards this cause.
