Mid this year the ISIS overrun and invaded the sovereign state of Iraq. They have since then seized towns and villages in the north, commiting Human Rights atrocities while making there way south. The Iraqi central government forces proved weak and inefficient in protecting the Iraqi population and containing this threat. But in all this chaos, one specific region in Iraq has fended for its self. The Kurds have taken in refugees and have defended their region. I believe that the Kurdish people should receive much more assistance military wise from The US. This would include sending in military advisors and sophisticated military equipment to help further bolster the regions defense capabilities. America believes in a stable iraq and helping Kurdish defense is the way to achieve this goal.
