To help get a law passed that will cover nursing home care for Seniors

My Mother suffered a fall that left her left arm injured unable to take care of her self we had to put her in a nursing home after going home . She fell again and had to stay an additional month after that we applied for Assisting living Home For my Mom and the waiting list is about one year long , now the nursing home said they have to take her ssa check to pay for her stay until their is an Assisted Living Apartment ready, were is the insurance that covers nursing home long term or short term care. We need it now
