Most Americans struggling to make ends meet know one thing: eating healthy isn't in the budget. To put food on the table is a challenge for many Americans.
The choices for people on a limited budget are the value menu at the drive-thru, canned/processed/pre-packaged foods and whatever is on sale. Teaching children healthy habits is important, but giving their parents the ability to provide those healthy meals is even more important.
It really begins in making healthier food more affordable and pricing processed/unhealthy foods in a less-attractive margin. Only when healthy foods are within reach of most American's budgets will we see a decline in obesity and a rise in healthy families.
