Help give foster care youth a voice that is heard and acknowledged

Many youth in foster care voices are suppressed and overridden. According to Fostercaremonth.org a startling 420, 000 youth are in foster care in the United States alone. In which the majority of whom become young adults and sign themselves out of the system at or around their 18th birthday and become homeless. Most have little to no financial, mental, or emotional support. Why is this option chosen over having support in these areas? A lot of these young adults are driven to take this road. They feel alone, misunderstood, and emotionally neglected. How can this be fixed? There is not enough privacy and trust in the foster care system. It has to be a way to give these youth a voice and a trusted ear. The department of Social Services preselected social workers are not always trustworthy.
