Due to the fact that crazy people can use the religion of Islam as a weapon to brainwash others into committing mass murder, there should be a required federal background check for anyone wishing to practice or preach the religion of Islam. Even though the vast majority of Muslims are very peaceful, wonderful people, the danger posed by a few mentally unstable people, emboldened by the misuse of this belief system, is very great. Therefore, I propose that a comprehensive federal background check system should be implemented as soon as possible to help stop the wrong people from misusing this system of beliefs. Even though this may inconvenience some law abiding people in exercising their 1st amendment rights, it is a small price to pay to perhaps save lives like the thousands lost on 9/11.
