Help the metastatic breast cancer community get more funding and recognition. We are literally being ignored to death.

Created by K.C. on September 05, 2012

I am a member of Inspired Metastatic Breast Cancer Advocacy group. We advocate for a change in funding and want our voices to be heard. Over 200,000 men and women are diagnosed every year with breast cancer. Over 30%, of those diagnosed, will develop stage IV metastatic terminal breast cancer. The life expectancy after developing mets is 18-30 months. But yet, the stage IV community gets LESS than 3% of all monies allocated for funding research and programs. We feel ignored as if our lives aren't important. Over 41,000 people die each year from stage IV breast cancer. We want 30% funding for 30% of people who will develop stage IV. We want research that gives us the potential to live longer quality lives. We shouldn't be killed by ignorance. Where is our cure? It comes from research.
